Cup Day in Melbourne means Spring Carnival Horse Racing to most of the Country,
but to dog fanciers in Victoria it means Sunbury Canine Club Champ Show where
you can place your bets at the TAB, or with the Bookies in attendance, you can
participate in "Fashions on the Field" or you can just get down to the serious
business of dog showing. Three of our puppies from the two litters below
had their first outing in the Ring, namely Lochrins' Wild Honeycomb, Romana and
River Song, (Violet, Daisy and Katie respectively). Katie managed to win her
Class and beat her enthusiastic sisters. Very promising puppies, all
three. |

Torchy (Lochrin Torchwood) gave birth to her second litter today.
Unfortunately she had to undergo surgery for retained placentas and while
examining her, the vet discovered a "mass" in her stomach which turned out to be
a tennis ball! So, it was a trying time for all of us, but Torchy is
recovering well and has 6 surviving puppies - 2 females and 4 males. |
|
21/7/10 |
Toffee (Collessie Toffee Apple) gave birth to her first litter of puppies - 3
females, 2 males - all well.

The Cairn Terrier Club Centenary weekend began on the Friday evening with a
"meet and greet" at the Tinto Hotel in Symington, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The CTC Championship Show was held on Saturday morning followed in the evening
by the Centenary Dinner. This was a wonderful event which started with
guests being "piped" to dinner. Cairn fanciers from all over the world
enjoyed an excellent meal, entertaining speakers, (including Mr Ronnie Irving -
KC Chairman), music and dancing late into the night. The next day it was
back to Show Ring for the Joint Cairn Terrier Clubs show. The entire
weeked was a well organised, thoroughly enjoyable and memorable event. |

From the 24/3/10 to the 2/5/10 I have had the fortunate experience of travelling

compaions, Jude Costello and Jane Seery, we also attended the National Terrier
Club Show in Stafford, England. During our time in the UK we visited a
number of well known, successful cairn kennels where we had the opportunity of
seeing many beautiful dogs and enjoyed the generous hospitality of their owners.
Among those visited were Vanajam, Anjofra, Winetta, Glenchess, Birselaw,
Larchlea and Uniquecottage. Thankyou to everyone for making us feel so
welcome. |
